Planning Permission Achieved

In January 2026, full planning permission was granted for the redevelopment of the Bog Meadow.

This includes:

• A new community hub building

• Upgraded sports facilities (tennis, astro, padel, grass pitch)

• Improved accessibility and public amenities

• Landscaping, drainage, and environmental protection measures

This approval marks a major milestone and allows us to move into the funding and design phase.

Our Funding Strategy

To deliver the project, we are pursuing three coordinated public funding streams:

• LEADER – to fund the detailed design phase

• CSFF (Community Sports Facilities Fund) – to fund the sports elements

• RRDF (Rural Regeneration and Development Fund) – to fund the community hub

The RRDF window is open now, with a submission deadline of July 28th, 2026. As this is a large scale public infrastructure fund an application can only be submitted by a public body and with a strict limit on applications from each public body.

We are happy to announce that we have been selected by Wicklow County Council as their sole submission for this round of RRDF and they have confirmed their support to act as Lead Body for the application.

Why We Need Your Help

Work on the RRDF submission is underway and a key requirement of the RRDF application is a Demand Analysis. This analysis must demonstrate:

• How the community currently uses the Bog Meadow

• What facilities are needed

• The level of demand across age groups and user groups

• The social, recreational, and community benefits

• The future needs of a growing population

To complete this analysis, we need as many people as possible to complete a short community survey.

Your Participation Matters

This is a critical opportunity to secure major national funding for Enniskerry. The RRDF window is not expected to open again until 2029, and the landscape may be very different at that point in time.

A strong response from the community will significantly strengthen our case.

We asked every household, club member, parent, volunteer, and resident to complete the survey and to share it widely. The survey is now closed, with more than 500 responses received.

Thank you for your continued support and commitment to the future of The Bog Meadow.
