The playground is near completion and we have to say we are very pleased with how it’s turned out so far.
Before it can be officially opened there’s a few things that we need to let you know about and get done.
1. The playground company have done a great job and are essentially finished
2. The playground needs to be certified from a health and safety aspect and we are expecting that to be done this week.
3. Once we have that certificate Wicklow County Council can take over the management and maintenance of the playground
4. There are a couple of areas in the playground that need planting/grass which we are reviewing but may need to be cordoned off in the meantime. At the moment these areas are just top soil and we have to try avoid dragging that around the playground if possible.
5. The committee have applied for funding for some seating and a picnic bench which will be added at a later date. Unfortunately these weren’t in the original budget because we used all the money raised and funded to optimise the play equipment
6. There are two gates to be installed at the entrances
It’s been a long road but we are nearly there and we want to take this opportunity to thank the community for all their patience and support.
