Wicklow County Council have us informed that after a small delay with obtaining materials, the groundwork for the playground is now starting. This will entail some disruption in the area, and we will endeavour to inform the community as this progresses over the next few months.

The ground works will include significant safety measures to the lower carpark as per the part 8 planning permission and will include realignment of the entrance and driveway to provide for a one-way system, provision of a footpath and disability spaces. This aspect of the work will necessitate the restriction of vehicle traffic to the area adjacent to the tennis courts and the hall. There will be pedestrian access during this period. We do not have a start date for this aspect of the work yet, but it will not be before the week commencing Monday June 10th.

Once the groundwork is completed the site will be fenced off pending the delivery of the playground equipment. This is currently going through the required public tender process, and we will update the community on this as soon as possible. Once this is completed, we can move quickly to have the equipment installed.

Ultimately, our goal is to create a structured recreational space that enhances the community and maintains a responsible and considered approach to environmental and biodiversity objectives. This project will create a great amenity for the village and particularly our younger generation now and into the future. We will liaise closely with Wicklow County Council and we will provide the community with further updates as the project progresses.
